Varsity bat boys and free clinic

Hello everyone,

My name is Jack Nally and I am the Head Varsity Baseball Coach for Millis HS.

I have been back and forth a bunch with Mike Carter, and it seems like there are a good amount of registrations for youth baseball this season. That’s great news! Even down the road, I hope we can bump those numbers even higher!

As this is my transition year into Millis, I’ve been juggling quite a few things and a lot has been on my mind. However, one of the biggest things is that I believe it is mission critical to connect with the youth players and families. Obviously, the youth and Babe Ruth programs are our HS feeder programs, meaning your sons are the future of Millis HS Baseball! So, seeing the # of registrations for youth baseball in my first year here is pretty promising.

The reason I am reaching out is to let you know about two opportunities our program is offering...

First, I am offering an opportunity for your son to be a Bat Boy for one of our Varsity HS Games. I think this would be a great way for your sons to be a part of a Varsity Program, to connect with the players that were once in your son’s shoes, and enjoy having some responsibility in our dugout!

Below, I have attached a Spreadsheet Link. I have designated each game for certain grades. For example, under a game that shows “2nd Grade,” I would like 3 2nd Graders to sign up for that game. Because this is something your sons will probably want to do with a friend, I figured separating by grade, instead of a free for all, would allow that to happen.

You will notice there are a mix of home & away games. For the home games, you can bring your son right to the dugout during pregame, and we will welcome him in with open arms.

For away games that start in the late afternoon/early evening, since CFB gets out of school too late to ride the bus with our team, I ask that you drive your son to the away venue. Obviously this option is not the most ideal, but if there are a few parents that can drive, then those away game options may be a good one to fill.

For the away games that start at night (only 2 night games), your son can ride the bus with our team. Those night game slots are designated for 5th/6th graders only.

I ask that you only fill out one slot for your son as I’m sure many other people will want to participate. And even then, there will be plenty of people that do not get a spot because we only have so many games.

Second, one of our Senior Captains, Andrew Morse, is hosting a Youth baseball clinic during April Vacation. It is a 2-Day, 2-Hour Clinic on April 22nd & 23rd from 10AM-12PM. Andrew, other Varsity Players and I will all be there and will get the chance to see your sons have an enjoyable time playing baseball.

The Flyer for this Clinic is attached.

Our Varsity players are changing the culture of the program as we speak, and I think this would be a fun experience for the youth baseball players to be a part of this shift.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Best,
